Your device and optional Private Space

Your check-ins, journal entries, approved Saathi memory notes, completed-practice count, saved Worlds, playback position, completion history, optional post-experience response, and sound preferences begin in your browser or app storage. You can use Pause without an account. Your progress is not shared with an employer or organisation. You can export or delete the device copy from the You screen. Clearing browser/app storage also removes that device copy.

If you sign in, Pause does not upload that private record merely because an account exists. Only after you explicitly choose “Keep Pause across devices” does Pause create a Private Space associated with your TeleHealthCircle account. Pause then stores a bounded copy of check-ins, journal entries, approved Saathi memories, saved Worlds, World progress and reflections so they can be recovered on another signed-in device. If two devices contain different entries, Pause combines records by their private IDs and retains the latest World progress rather than silently replacing one device with another. You can remove the cloud copy, sign out while retaining the device copy, or sign out and clear that device. Private Space data is deleted if the associated account is deleted.

World playback

World metadata, transcripts, timed guidance, procedural ambience, and gentle procedural music are included in the app and can work without external audio streaming. These sounds are generated on the device from original Pause definitions. Optional “Device voice” narration uses voices installed or provided by your browser or operating system; its voice quality and offline availability depend on that device. This release does not claim professional human narration or background playback. Worlds require no microphone, camera, location, or health-data access.

Saathi AI conversations

When you send a message to Saathi, the latest bounded conversation is sent securely to our server and an AI service provider to produce and safety-check the response. Pause does not add these conversations to your private check-in record or save them in its database. Do not share names, contact details, addresses, medical records, passwords, or other identifying information.

If you explicitly add a note to “What Saathi remembers,” that note is stored in your private Pause record and sent with later Saathi requests so the reply can use it when relevant. It remains device-only unless you explicitly enable Private Space. Memory suggestions are off by default. If you enable them, the latest message may be processed to offer a short memory for your review; no suggestion is saved unless you approve its exact wording. You can inspect, edit, forget, export, or delete every approved note. Device-only memory may be lost if you clear storage, use private browsing, uninstall the app, or change devices.

Saathi voice

Voice input starts only after you choose the microphone control and accept the voice notice. Pause first uses speech recognition supplied by your browser or operating system when available. On other supported devices, a short recording is sent securely to Google Cloud Speech-to-Text to create an editable draft; it is not added to your Pause record and is not sent to Saathi until you choose Send. Read-aloud uses a compatible device voice when available and may use Google Cloud Text-to-Speech for the selected reply when needed.

Feedback and optional product learning

When you submit feedback, Pause stores only the rating, reaction, note, context, language, source screen, and optional reply email that you intentionally provide. It does not attach Saathi conversations, journal content, voice recordings, or precise location. Feedback may be emailed to the founding team after it is safely stored.

Anonymous product learning is off by default. If you enable it on the You screen, Pause sends only allowlisted events such as opening Pause, entering or completing a World, opening Saathi, or opening/submitting feedback. A random device identifier supports approximate return counts; the server stores only a one-way hash of it. It is not an account, does not identify a person, and is deleted locally when you delete Pause data. You can turn product learning off at any time.

Operational information

Our hosting and API infrastructure may process limited technical information such as request time, network address, response status, and error metadata for security, abuse prevention, and reliability. We do not intentionally place journal text or Saathi message content in application logs.

Permissions and tracking

Pause does not request camera, location, contacts, health-record, advertising, or notification permissions. Microphone permission is requested only when you deliberately start Saathi voice input. Pause has no advertising SDK and no behavioural advertising profile.

Your choices

You may use breathing, grounding, Worlds and Saathi without signing in or writing anything. You can clear a Saathi conversation at any time, disable memory suggestions and anonymous product learning, export your private record, or delete Pause data. Deleting local data permanently removes local World history, approved memories, analytics preference, and random Pause device identifier from that device. If Private Space is on, its separate account controls let you remove the cloud copy. Removing a cloud copy does not silently delete the current device copy.

Urgent support

If you feel unsafe or may harm yourself or someone else, do not rely on Pause, Saathi, or a World. Contact local emergency services or go to the nearest emergency department, and ask a trusted nearby person to stay with you if you can. Pause does not automatically contact emergency services.
